Pilates follows a carefully developed method perfected over a period of nearly 100 years of experience and observation, since being invented by Joseph Pilates in the early 1920's. The crucial feature of Pilates, in comparison with some other techniques, is that it focuses on how you perform an exercise and carry yourself in daily life.
